Castellón de la Plana

Castellón de la Plana is the capital of the Castellon province of the Valencia region in Spain. The whole Castellon province is one of the most mountainous terrains of Spain. The city with the modern population of 178,000 people was founded by the moors as a stronghold, but after the conquering by James I it moved from the Desert Mountains peak to the plain and became a village in the mid-13th century.
